Activity Description:
In Mystery on the Lake, you`re not just the audience, you`re in the show! Picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake is the backdrop for a new adventure in interactive theatre. "Mystery on the Lake" is an innovative concept in entertainment that combines the history and culture of the old town, with the entertainment of theatre. The MOTL theatrical format is appropriately dubbed, "Theatre that `moves` you!", since the performance takes place throughout a variety of related venues that are linked through an engaging plot, rather than the traditional theatre performance that takes place in just one location. Participants walk between the venues and are integrated into the show through the interactivity of live improvisational theatre and the fun of teamwork in collecting clues and solving puzzles. Fitting in with the theatre theme and the town`s historic richness, the Mystery on the Lake experience is part live theatre, part scavenger hunt, part historical adventure, and part walking tour - all presented in an environment of mystery and intrigue. You will work together in groups of 12 to 14 making your way through the town searching for clues and interacting with an unusual supporting cast of characters. Discovering who is actually part of the show is all part of the experience. The script writers have created a storyline for you that utilizes actual historic and cultural facts and combines the fun and drama of live theatre and improv through interaction with a variety of wacky characters as they guide you through the town on a quest to solve "The Secret of Butlersburg". You will be walking approximately 3 km (about 1.9 miles), with frequent breaks and rest stops, so make sure that you dress appropriately. No walking segment is longer than 8 minutes.
The ticket price also includes admission to two of the town`s premiere historic attractions as part of the show; Parks Canada Fort George; and the Niagara Historical Museum. Also included will be a few snacks along the way, and some of Niagara`s finest brew at a local pub.

Season: May to October
Ages 12 and older are accepted for all bookings. All children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. (i.e. 2 children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by 2 adults, etc.) All participants must have a ticket regardless of age.
